The emotional highpoint of the evening was when veteran actor Ambareesh received the Lifetime achievement award. The audience promptly gave him a standing ovation while the visibly moved actor thanked his grandfather legendary violinist, T Chowdaiah, his parents, and of course, his fans.
Amidst all the cheer and celebration, he remembered his dear friend
Vishnuvardhan and expressed grief at his loss.
“I have completed four decades in this industry, after which I got this award. At this point, I want to thank all my directors, producers and technicians for standing by me and my audience for supporting me throughout my journey. This award should reach them,” he said.
The man of many hues expressed his displeasure on the present scenario in Sandalwood, “I am not against the global trend. But, we must also start using heroines from our native state.”
He added, “Ranganayaki is one of my landmark films. To this day, I cannot do without thanking Puttanna Kanagal for trusting the role in me and believing that I could pull it off. This
movie gave me an identity” said this actor turned politician.
